The Trusty Post
A lovely row with the bonus that the Deben Yacht Club was providing food and drinks on our return. Richard tied us up to the trusty post by the railway bridge whilst we watched much fishy activity. This is becoming a much loved spot.
Picnic at the Hams
A lovely evening spent on the water in Whisstock. The weather might have been a bit cooler than of late but the colours and reflections were stunning.
A planned picnic at The Hams refuelled everyone for the rather choppy journey home.
A good time had by all!
Sæ Wylfing at the Woodbridge Regatta
Members of the WCRC took to the water in a very different vessel today when they rowed Sæ Wylfing at the Woodbridge Regatta. Sæ Wylfing is a half length interpretation of the Sutton Hoo ship and great fun to row in.
It was good to see so many other vessels on the water with sailing, paddle boarding, dragon boating, rowing, cruising, canoeing, kayaking and rafting.
Postponed summer outing

Although we planned a lovely summer evening row on Friday 18th, the weather didn’t play ball so we avoided the wind and rain in favour of much nicer conditions on Saturday evening and took a trip beyond Wilford Bridge. As ever we scared the tourists on the far side when yodelling as loud as we could to get the echo to resonate and expand.
Rather than make crumbs in the boat we went to the kayak and paddle boarders beech on the Sutton Hoo bank to eat our lemon drizzle cake and leave messages in the sand to show that we can get to the beach too!
We didn’t have enough stones to spell ‘skiff’ so we settled with ‘gig’.
